May 25th 2009 saw the Scottish Government's Energy Minister, Jim
Mather MSP, open a new hydro-electric power station which uses water
piped from a new dam high on the Irine Burn, Roshven.
Installed by a joint venture between TLS Hydropower and Alistair
Forbes, the landowner, the station will supply 550kw of electricity
to the National Grid, and has been built with a minimum of disturbance
to the environment.
