The 97th issue of the Highland Railway Journal, in Spring 2011, contained an article by Howard Geddes.

We thank Howard Geddes for his kind permission to re-publish his article, which concerns a railway family working on the Highland Railway, a family career which ended at Lochailort, Moidart. The article mentions two photographs which were left out because of lack of space in the printed journal; we don't have that problem and the two photographs are reproduced below, including a particularly atmospheric one of Walter Begg exchanging the single-line working tablets at night.

There are still members of the family living in Moidart.
