The Lockhart Papers and the Journal

The Lockhart papers cover events surrounding both the Old Pretender and Bonnie Prince Charlie. They were published by Anthony Aufrere, who was married to a direct descendent of George Lockhart, about 70 years after the 1745 uprising. They came into Aufrere's possession in 1799, from his brother-in-law, Charles Count Lockhart, who died in 1802 without issue. For information, a copy is available at the National Library of Scotland.
