Macdonalds of Glencoe

It does not appear that many of this branch of the Clan Donald came to Antigonish. I am informed by Mrs I. A. MacLeod, Recorder of Deeds, that Capt. Angus MacDonald of Ballantyne's Cove, who died about 1927 - aged about 96, was of this stock and was of the Macdonalds who came from Eigg to Parrsboro and then to Georgeville. He had a cousin, an older Capt. Angus, who died many years previous to that. The Fairmouth Macdonalds were of the same stock as Capt. Angus, and were known also as the "Eiggs" or the "Bans". One of these Fairmouth Macdonalds, (though born in Shelburne) is Wm. C. Macdonald, a Highway Engineer in New Brunswick. Mch 24/40
